Leak Repair and Re-Tile

A pool that had been built a few years ago by a builder and not a pool company was leaking badly from cracks in the concrete shell.  Sections of tiles were coming off as well as the render below.

We were tasked with emptying the pool, reinforcing and repairing the shell and re-tiling in a contemporary tile chosen by the customer (Niebla Urola Mix).

Finally, we fitted a new slatted cover and upgraded the underwater lights to LED’s

Complete Refurbishment

This pool had laid unused for a couple of years and just prior to that it had supposedly been refurbished by another pool company!  After the previous refurb, the pool soon fell into a poor state of repair and the owners pretty much gave up on it and contemplated filling it in.  They called us as a last resort to see if we thought we could revive it at reasonable cost.

At the same time, we replaced the ageing pool heater with a Certikin Genie which apart from being much more reliable than the old heater, saved the customer over 30% of his gas bill.  We also replaced the underwater lights with modern LED bulbs, replaced the filter media with OC1 and fitted a new ‘swing over’ ladder unit in the deep end.

Tile Band, Copings & Paving

Freeform pool that needed sprucing up.  Copings and all paving removed and replaced with Indian Sandstone.

Pool shell had a vertical crack to the sidewall, eroded grout, dirty tiles and the tile band was in poor condition.

Apart from renewing paving with matching copings along with repairs to the concrete base, the tile band was replaced, crack repaired and rest of pool acid washed and re-grouted.  New ladder fitted, underwater light replaced and diving board removed.

Indoor Pool Refurbishment

Indoor pool that was looking dated, brought up to modern specifications and design.  Copings and paving replaced, non-working counter swim unit removed and new ‘Fastlane’ unit added.  Pool acid washed and Underwater light replaced.  All new filtration equipment, air heater and de-humidifier, control panel, boiler, cover and roller.

Full Re-Tile and Copings (TH)

This pool had large sections of tiles coming away from the floor and frost damaged tile band.  Copings were worn and paving dirty.  

Pool was fully re-tiled, new copings laid and existing paving acid washed and localised repairs to pointing.

Full Re-Tile and Copings (JT)

This pool had large sections of the tile band disintegrating and the copings were worn and loose.

Pool was fully re-tiled, new copings laid and a corner step unit added to replace the 2 ladders to improve access. This job was carried out during a particularly cold spell of winter so in such cases, we erect a marquee with heaters over the pool to allow work to continue.

Pool Paint

This was a plaster pool, finished with Marbelite.  Another company replaced the copings and were supposed to repair the tile band but in so doing, stained the marbelite surface so badly that another solution was required.  We agreed to take over the job, laying a new tile band and painting the rest of the pool. This is a comparatively economical way to smarten up a pool without going for a full mosaic tile.

Leak Detection & On-site Lining

Liner pool was leaking and we were tasked with finding the leaks.  We found the liner seams were coming apart in a few places resulting in the leak.  Coping stones were also nearly all loose.

We fitted a new On-Site lining and relaid all the copings.
